National priority species

This publication presents the 2025 updated list of priority species at the national level. National priority is based on both the degree of threat at the national level and Switzerland's international responsibility. Methodological improvements and guidance on species conservation make the list more coherent and easier to use. A total of 2,999 taxa are considered a national priority. The need for measures was determined based on the level of action required, the urgency of implementation and the need for improved population monitoring.
